Some regions have restrictions that affect access to NVIDIA GeForceNOW game streaming (used for accessing IMMERSE in a web browser) and OpenAI-powered features in the IMMERSE app, such as AI Guided Conversations and the Language Assist Tool. This article outlines these limitations and provides guidance for users in affected areas.
NVIDIA GeForceNOW Restrictions
What’s the Issue?
NVIDIA GeForceNOW is available globally, but some regions rely on local internet service providers/companies called Alliance Partners who may impose additional requirements on their cloud-gaming services.
What Does This Mean For You?
If you reside in the following countries, your access to NVIDIA GeForceNOW may be restricted after a certain threshold of use until you subscribe to a paid plan by the local interest provider.
⚠️ Bypassing extra GeForce NOW charges from your ISP with a VPN might be possible, but this is done entirely at your own risk. IMMERSE cannot provide any assistance or support for VPN configurations or issues.
⛔ You may have a paid service to one of these Alliance Partners in order to improve your connection to IMMERSE. However, any fees incurred by Alliance Partners to use GeForce NOW service with IMMERSE are separate and not included in your IMMERSE membership. These are external costs IMMERSE cannot control or offset. We appreciate your understanding.
ℹ️ Users on free plans in other regions with Alliance Partners [see list here] will have their IMMERSE access routed to the closest NVIDIA GeForceNOW Data Center either in North America, Europe, or Japan. Please note that you may experience increased latency the further your region is from the data center.
OpenAI API Access Restrictions
What’s the Issue?
IMMERSE’s AI-powered features rely on OpenAI’s APIs. Unfortunately, OpenAI restricts access to its services in certain countries, preventing users in those locations from using our AI Guided Conversations and the Language Assist Tool. There currently are no workarounds and we apologize for any inconvenience this causes for prospective members of our community.
