🚀 What’s New in IMMERSE

We’re back with a fresh update packed with improvements to your self-paced learning experience, greater control over settings, and smarter feedback. Let’s take a look at what’s new!


🤖 Smarter Support from Geo

Geo just got more helpful! Now, during key portions of your self-paced lessons where you’re producing new language, you’ll see Geo Tips. These are pieces of context-aware feedback to help you fine-tune your responses and improve on the spot.


🌐 Choose Your Translation Language

You now have a dedicated setting to choose your preferred translation language, separate from your display language. This gives you more control over how you use the Language Assist tool and in-lesson translations, helping you learn the way that works best for you.

To change your translation language:

  1. Enter your Homeroom

  2. Click > Settings > Display

  3. Click the Edit "Pen" Icon next to "Translation Language"

  4. Select the language you wish to translate words into

  5. Click > Update


👤 Manage Your Account More Easily

New Manage Profile and Manage Subscription links have been added to your profile page. These open in your device’s browser, making it easier to update your info or subscription details outside the app.


✨ Improvements to Self-Paced Lessons

We’ve introduced a bunch of behind-the-scenes upgrades to make self-paced lessons more intuitive and immersive:

  • There is now a tutorial for first-time users of self-paced lessons

  • Tooltips added across newer features and buttons

  • Roleplay conversations now dynamically adjust length based on your level and interest

  • “Fill in the Blank” now asks you to generate your own answers (no more multiple choice)

  • AI Tutors now understand their gender, name, and appearance

  • Modeled Conversations in the Listen section will now begin only after you press Start. This way, you’re in control of when the audio plays

  • Translation improvements for practice content

  • VR-specific UI adjustments to reduce motion sickness

  • You can now rate the quality of Language Assist results with a thumbs up/down

  • You can now access the practice content for a booked lesson even if your account is not set to the level of the booked lesson


✨ Improvements to Level Up Assessments

  • The grammar section is now labeled “Grammar & Syntax”

  • Speech input is now required for Roleplay activities (typing no longer allowed)

This keeps your assessments in line with real-world communication expectations.


📅 New "Upcoming Class" Visibility

On the Home tab, in your “My Upcoming Classes” section, you’ll now see a “Show on Learning Path” button. Clicking this helps you quickly visualize how your upcoming class fits into your overall progress.


🛠️ Fixes & Improvements

  • Improved accuracy in translation tools

  • Japanese display text shadow issues fixed

  • Pronunciation now supports up to 100 characters

  • Scene boundary issue in the Hotel is fixed

  • Camera issue with photos taken in the Art Studio scene has been resolved


🏢 For Program Administrators

Administrators of contracts should already see these improvements to their Dashboard and systems for managing their learners:

  • Admins can now request contract-level configuration to control:

    • Whether learners can change their target language

    • Whether a user’s activity is included in their reporting

  • New metrics like “Completed Self-Paced Lessons” have been added to the Admin Dashboard.

  • Time on Site in Learner list and Learner drawer is now in format HH:MM

  • Excel export refinements:

    • Format TOS in Excel export to be in format HH:MM

    • Add Status column to Excel export

    • Add “Role” column to Excel export

    • Add “Location” column to Excel export

  • Custom fields now supported in both filters and CSV templates

✉️ Improved "Learner Email" Communication

  • “Class Booked” emails now have cleaner formatting

  • “Add to Outlook Calendar” links now work properly

  • “Reset Password” page matches login styling
