🚀 What’s New

✨ Redesigned Homeroom Background

Our new beautifully redesigned Homeroom space is now more open and full of cultural icons from around the world.

✨ New Homeroom Menu Design

Our new Homeroom layout now organizes all key features under four main navigation tabs:

  • Home Tab: Your go-to place for My Upcoming Lessons. Any lessons you’ve already booked will appear here, and you’ll also find a new Recommendations section, tailored to suggest relevant content based on your progress at your current level.

  • Learning Path Tab: The heart of your learning journey, where you’ll find Units and the Lesson Schedule.

    • Units: Explore Units if you want to focus on a specific skill. Each Unit contains both live lessons and solo practice activities related to the specific skill you want to develop.

    • Schedule: If you're looking to find a lesson that fits your schedule, head directly to the Schedule, where all upcoming live lessons are now located.

      • Previously, the schedule was split between the Learn Tab (for Lessons) and the Connect Tab (for Events). Now, everything is combined into the Schedule for easier access.

    • The previous Practice Tab is no longer present. All practice activities, such as AI conversation practice, are now tied to specific Learning Outcomes within each Unit in the Learning Path.

      • When you select a Unit and Learning Outcome you’ll see the related practice activities, including avatar conversations, vocabulary practice, and pronunciation activities, all connected to the lesson and learning outcome within that Unit.

  • Community Tab: Formerly Connect, the new Community Tab is where you can participate in Meetups happening around the clock. While Events are still available, Meetups are now the primary focus for bringing learners together to converse and practice in a fun environment. The Language Exchange (previously Commons) is also housed here, where you can now meet learners studying different languages!

  • Review Tab: Class Notes and My Notes have moved here, offering easy access to your personal notes and review materials.

🤷 Why the Changes?

This new structure brings all aspects of your learning together in a more logical and intuitive way. Whether you want to dive deep into specific skills or simply check what’s coming up on your schedule, you’ll find everything at your fingertips.

💡 What You Can Do to Prepare...

No need to worry, your booked classes and progress will remain intact. Once the update goes live on Monday, take a few minutes to explore the new layout and familiarize yourself with the new features. We're confident you’ll love the clearer structure and enhanced navigation!

✨ New Learning Path + Ai Powered Practice

🗺️ Learning Path Tab

  • Your Learning Path tab will present you with all of the available learning units as well the overall progress for each unit.

    • Look for the new “Lessons Today!” tag on these units to quickly see where lessons are available.

    • Alternatively, you can toggle the Schedule view to show all of the available classes for the current week.

    • Live events will also be available here via a blue banner at the top of the page.

  • Selecting a unit will then show additional details about the unit as well as all of the available classes within that unit (shown as learning outcomes).

  • Selecting a learning outcome will show additional details about the learning outcome, the available practice activities for the specific learning outcome as well as the lesson times available for the learning outcome

    • Lessons can be booked from here by selecting the time of the lesson you would like to attend.

🗣️ Practice on Your Own

Every learning outcome now has its own dedicated practice space that allows you to practice lesson material outside of class time. These practice spaces will contain the following activities for you to complete on your own:

  • Vocabulary practice

    • This guide authored activity will give you a set of flash cards that contain words and phrases that you may see and hear as part of the associated lesson. These can used to memorize the new words or phrases OR they can used to test yourself with a fill in the blank activity.

  • Pronunciation practice

    • This guide authored activity will present the member with a set of words or phrases that you can try to practice pronouncing. After saying each word or phrase, you will be shown how good your pronunciation was.

  • Guided conversation practice

    • If you are a level 2-5 learner, this AI powered activity will allow members to have unique conversations with our Immerse avatars that are focused on specific topics and aligned with the learning outcome. This will be a great way to put your new words and phrases to the test. After finishing the conversation, you will be presented with a score to help you understand how well you did and how you can improve.

    • Scripted conversation practice

      • If you are a level 1 learner, this scripted conversation is a great way to start hearing the new language you are learning in a conversational setting while also being given the opportunity to speak out your parts of the conversation.

✨ Guide Listed on Lessons

We listened to our Community's feedback and have the added a feature where all lessons will now also show the Guide that will be teaching.

✨ New Community Scene Design

Our new 🎳Underwater Bowling Scene 🎳 is a great social place to practice your bowling skills or you can go upstairs to hangout with other members in Immerse!

This space can be seen in the hourly rotation of scenes under our (Public) Community tab, but can also be accessed through the (Private) Community tab anytime. Have fun exploring!

🔥 Improvements

  • Learning path update

    • The learning path will now be presented at all times in your homeroom so that you can see your progress towards the next fluency level.

    • Although you can take a progress assessment at any time, you will now be prompted to take the assessment once you have taken 80% of the available classes for your fluency level.

  • Point earning update

    • Points can only be earned once per study space by earning 4 or more stars on the guided conversation (level 2-5) or by completing a scripted conversation (level 1).

    • Points can only be earned once per lesson, so taking a class multiple times will not result in receiving more than 5 points per lesson.

🛠 Bug Fixes/Improvements

  • Typing on the notepad has been resolved and re-enabled

  • Fixed floating burger in the fast food scene

✂️ Removals

  • AI Avatars are no longer present in any of the practice scenes in the Community Tab.

  • Practice tab and associated AI powered avatars

    • Some of the practice spaces have been added to the rotating community spaces.

    • AI practice avatars have been added to practice spaces per Learning Outcome.
